The OS X Mavericks is now free available on the Mac App Store. Mac users can upgrade compatible Macs directly from OS X Lion, OS X Mountain Lion, and even OS X Snow Leopard.
In this post, let me show how you can rip DVD in OS X Mavericks to various video formats, including iTunes-, iPod-, iPhone-, and Apple TV-compatible MP4 files, using Mac DVD Ripper.
1. Download and install DVD Ripper onto OS X Mavericks Mac
Mac DVD Ripper is fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks. Below is the direct download link:
2. Add DVD
Insert a DVD into your Mac’s hard drive and run the DVD Ripper application, then click File > Load DVD to import the DVD file. Mac DVD Ripper supports DVD-9/5, IFO and .dvdmedia files. You can also drag DVD files to the program directly.
Note: The default settings only read the main movie without the DVD menu. If you want to add the whole DVD movies, please go to Preference > Advanced > Load Contents in a DVD > All Titles.
Tips: After the files are loaded, you can select the subtitles and audio track you prefer. On the right windows, you can preview your files and take snapshots of your favorite movie scenes.
3. Output settings
Click the small icon (showing your original format) on the right of each video clip and the format list will pop up. You can navigate to choose the format you want from the Common Video list. And if you want to convert your DVD for portable devices, you can find the icon of your device and set it as the output format to rip DVD’s to videos with optimized settings for your device. Video presets for iPhone, iPad, iPod, PSP, Xbox 360, Zune and more are provided.
4. Start to rip DVD on Mavericks
When output settings are done, click the Convert button to start to rip DVD on OS X Mavericks Mac. When the conversion process is finished, the converted video folder in your hard drive will open automatically.
It is recommended that you choose Mac Video Converter Ultimate if you want to both rip DVD and convert video on OS X Mavericks.
